The Sasol Slurry Phase Distillate Process™ (SPD™ ) converts natural gas into high performance, low emissions GTL diesel and GTL naphtha. This is a commercially viable option for producing easily-transportable and marketable products from natural gas resources. The relative product ratio from the SPD™ process is approximately 70% GTL diesel and 30% GTL naphtha.
GTL diesel and engine oil life
On the left is an oil sample taken after 11,000km from a vehicle using pure GTL diesel.
On the right is an oil sample taken after only 4,500km from a vehicle using standard diesel.
